Rhodochrosite has one of my favorite stories.

Ancient legends from South America tell of a people who believed these rosy pink stones were formed from the hearts and blood of long-forgotten kings and queens. Because of this, Rhodochrosite is sometimes called the "Inca Rose."

Whether the story is true or not, I've always loved the idea that a stone so deeply connected to compassion and healing would carry a legend about the heart.
