Brigid
Goddess of hearth and forge, poetry and healing — the spark that ignites and the steady flame that keeps burning. In ancient Ireland, she was honored as a triple goddess, her domains weaving together fire, water, and earth. Later, she became Saint Brigid of Kildare, her sacred wells and eternal flame still venerated to this day.
With Irish roots of my own, this piece feels like a bridge between my hands and the hands of women before me — tending fires, crafting beauty, telling stories by firelight.
Knotted on vibrant orange cord, this necklace holds:
Carnelian – Brigid’s sacred flame, vitality, and creative drive
Faceted Red Hematoid Quartz – transformation through the forge, clarity in action
Faceted Gold Hematite – grounding with sparks of inspiration
Moss Agate – growth, fertility, and connection to the green earth
Picasso Jasper – artistic expression, perseverance, and harmony in creation
Faceted Orange Aventurine – optimism, confidence, and joyful creativity
At its heart: three fiery carnelian nuggets, each knotted separately, forming a triple-guru focal — a direct tribute to Brigid’s threefold nature of maiden, mother, and crone. Below them, dangles of beads from the necklace carry her energy forward, like sparks flying from the forge.
It’s not a traditional 108-bead mala (83 beads instead), but I’m not one for strict rules. Wear it as a necklace, meditate with it, place it on your altar — however you use it, you carry the flame.
Mantra:
“I am the keeper of my fire — I rise, I create, I shine.”
